Adele

AdeleAdele Mara April 28, 1923 until May 7, 2010.) was an American singer, actress and dancer who was a part of films during the 1940s and 1950s[2] and on television in the 1950s and 1960s. As a professional under the name Adele St. Mara, she signed a contract with Columbia Pictures[citation requiredand was able to gain experience in the studio's "B" feature films as well as comedy shorts. It was then changed to Adele Mara. Mara was an assistant receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks as well as Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters in the character of Rita Hayworth in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks plays the lead female character in Alias Boston Blackie (1942), playing the sister of a falsely accused and freed prisoner. She was transferred to Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was ended. In Republic Pictures, she was a part of the genre of westerns as well as outdoor adventure. The actress appeared in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch which starred John Wayne, Angels in Exile (leading ladies), Sands of Iwo Jima (John Wayne's love attraction), California Passage (leading ladies) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours(supporting role).
