Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American and Canadian artist and singer. Her catalog includes more than twenty albums. Her music is classified by DiFranco as alternative, folk rock, but it also has influences of jazz and hip-hop. Ani diFranco was the first musician to start her own label in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered as one of the feminist icons. DiFranco is the son of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They began their relationship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian descent, and her mother comes from Montreal. Ani diFranco wrote and sang the track 32 Flavors. It was included on her 1995 sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. It was also featured on the soundtrack of the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco acknowledged her apology in 2013, after the news broke she was planning to host 3 days of a workshop at the site of a Louisiana ex-slave plantation. However, many (including this report) weren't able to detect any regret. DiFranco apologized several days afterward. Although she's known as Little Folksinger, her music is a mix of different styles.
