Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco classifies her music as folk-rock or alternative, but it also has influences from punk, hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as an icon of women's rights and Grammy-winning artist is considered to be the first founder of DIY music. It was one of the very first musicians to start her own label in the year 1990. DiFranco was a born on 23rd September 1970 in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Dante Americo DiFranco. Her father was Italian descent and her mother was originally from Montreal.
