Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. Over 20 albums were released by her. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk and alternative rock but includes elements of punk, funk, hip beat and jazz. Ani Difranco is considered to be a feminist legend and Grammy award winner. Being one of the first female artists in the 1990s, DiFranco created her own label. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who met Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
