Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, the Canadian-American musician and singer. There are more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk-rock and alternative rock but has additional influences from punk funk hip hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco is the first musician to start her own label in 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icon. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd, 1970. She was the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco, who had become acquainted while at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
